Desks for middle and senior managers
Following the collapse of the Soviet financial system, the domestic markets of post-Soviet states lost their seemingly reliable protection from the influence of foreign capital, and a flood of banknotes stamped on printing presses and bank accounts in foreign currencies, unbacked by real assets, flooded in at deliberately inflated rates. Hundreds of trust funds were established, purchasing vouchers and privatization certificates from the public at a fraction of the price. These certificates granted their holders access to dismantling equipment from what had once been state-owned huge factories and small enterprises, remelting it into raw materials much cheaper than ore smelting, for shipment to China, which had established production of various goods under the guise of leading global brands. To ensure tighter control over the enormous flows of raw materials and financial resources, organizers began constructing high-rise buildings in major cities as specialized business centers. Even the largest corporations, by now, were willing to rent space in these buildings. Their public management, completely uncertain about the future, naturally showed no desire to spend substantial sums on building their own real estate, which would make it impossible to escape to a foreign country in the event of an impending threat. As a result, a situation has emerged—now commonplace—where employees from dozens, even hundreds, of different large and small companies work under the same roof every day in a single building, with vast halls, sometimes occupying entire floors, dedicated to their accommodation. There are no offices separated from one another by brick walls, with signs on the entrance doors indicating the position of the person occupying them, but the need to emphasize the hierarchical rank of each employee remains. One of the reliable reference points for searching in the general hall for persons empowered to make important decisions is executive desks, usually significantly different in appearance from those intended for use by ordinary personnel.
Among their characteristic distinguishing features, the following can be mentioned:
A more respectable appearance, capable of emphasizing the status of the person sitting behind it and effectively fostering a respectable image in the eyes of others. Thanks to this, not only subordinates but also discerning visitors visiting the establishment for business purposes are able to easily distinguish between ordinary employees and high-ranking executives, even if the distance between their workstations is no more than ten meters.
These pieces of furniture are typically more expensive because they are constructed using expensive materials for both the structural elements and the finishing. This is especially true for the tabletop, which is the most visible feature, and therefore often made from valuable hardwood.
These products also feature sophisticated design and advanced functionality compared to simple budget models for ordinary employees.
In addition to executive desks, the workstation set also includes other items.
Furniture accessories for executive desks
Of the furniture items that accompany executive desks, it is enough to briefly describe the two most commonly found in purchased sets.
Executive chairs
Comfortable executive chairs They are considered an essential part of desk sets, as they're not designed for standing work, and standard, cheap, hard chairs significantly disrupt the overall appearance of a manager's workspace. Their design is focused on providing the user with maximum functionality, including height adjustment, vertical swivel, armrests, and headrests for comfortable support. Manufacturers also pay close attention to the finish, which perfectly matches the desk.
Sofas on legs
For holding meetings with subordinates and receiving groups of clients, they are often used sofas on legs The height of these chairs is calculated to ensure cleaners can easily maintain the cleanliness of the premises at a level befitting the establishment. Depending on the build, the seat can comfortably accommodate two to three people, and this can be adjusted to the optimal size by selecting the appropriate length.
