Executive Desks
The personnel of any commercial company or government organization is distributed among the cells of the staffing table with a clearly delineated hierarchical structure of interdependencies, subordination and authority of each individual element and their totality as a whole. Often there is a need to visualize the status of employees to a greater or lesser extent for a quick assessment of the position occupied by each and the possibilities of solving certain issues with them. Unlike law enforcement agencies and the army, in the vast majority of civilian structures it is not customary to wear special symbolic identification marks, such as shoulder straps, so it is often impossible to distinguish a superior from a subordinate only by the appearance of clothing. When they are placed in a common room, there are also no signs on the doors of individual offices with information about the position held by the persons behind them, so the furniture used to arrange the workplaces serves as beacons to help navigate. For this reason executive desks usually differ significantly in appearance from those intended for ordinary employees in their solidity, and finding a boss empowered to make important decisions among dozens or even hundreds of people with the right approach to furnishing the premises turns out to be easy not only for team members, but also for ordinary visitors who have some personal business.
Design features of executive desks
In addition to emphasizing the status of its owner, executive desks should provide him with the most comfortable conditions to ensure high productivity of daily activities. For these purposes, the design has all the necessary elements, each of which provides some useful functionality. Let's list the main ones:
The most noticeable and frequently used detail is the horizontal tabletop, usually rectangular in shape. It has a width and length sufficient to accommodate everything necessary for the current work. To givesolidappearance, it is usually made of valuable hardwood species with a beautiful texture of clearly visible fibers on the cut and is covered with several layers of high-quality transparent furniture varnish. Sometimes, before applying it, the surface is tinted with stain, and after it has completely dried, it is polished to achieve a mirror shine.
For assembling boxes of cheaper models, veneered chipboard sheets or MDF, which has become very popular today, are used instead of wood. If short and inconspicuous legs are provided as supporting elements, nondescript but strong birch is quite suitable for their production.
The set may include several drawers, as well as freely accessible or closed shelves. The items located there have different values, so some of them can be placed in storage compartments with access control, provided by locks of various types and designed to prevent entry by unauthorized persons, including cleaning and maintenance personnel.
Since it is inconvenient to use tables while standing, they are necessarily supplemented with executive chairs, which also have their own characteristics both in stylistic design and in the opportunities provided to the user. In addition to those listed, other pieces of furniture may be needed to fully equip the room, depending on the needs, which are worth saying a few words about separately.
Conference tables
For contacts with representatives of other structures of equal status, the following are more suitable: negotiation tables, with their symmetrical form emphasizing the equality of the groups of people seated behind them for dialogue. Most often, they have a presentable tabletop of a round or flat oval shape, which is essentially the only element used in the process of communication. The rest of the structure consists of a minimum number of supporting parts, and boxes, shelves and drawers are absent as unnecessary.
Office sofas
To receive a group of clients or hold meetings with subordinates, modern offices often use office sofas, each of which, depending on the build, can accommodate up to four people. They are quite comfortable for spending time in a sitting position, but like all work furniture, they are not designed for resting while lying down. Among the extensive assortment, there will always be executive desks and related items that suit your needs and financial capabilities.
